WHITE GOLD CASE – IVORY COLORED ENAMEL DIAL
Ref: LCF001.02.G1.E09
The Galet Classic watch has decisively proven its worth since being presented in 2010, earned enviable distinctions such as in the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in the men’s watch category.
The Galet Classic is an elegant and efficient timepiece, equipped with an exclusive in-house movement developed, assembled and adjusted in the Laurent Ferrier workshops.
The curve of the case reflects the brand’s pure, restrained design codes. It is pebble-shaped (galet in French) in a nod to the large and refined historical watch models. It is equipped with a ball-shaped winding-crown ensuring more pleasant handling.
The mechanical hand-wound movement, visible exclusively through the sapphire caseback is fitted with a double balance-spring tourbillon device crafted in the finest traditional manner with a rating precision duly certified by Besançon Observatory
The white gold case makes a perfect match with the the ivory shade of the grand feu enamel dial punctuated by black painted Roman numerals. The gold hands are “assegai-shaped” for the hours and minutes and baton-shaped for the seconds. A red seconds counter at 6 o’clock is rimmed by a white gold flange that is manually bevelled and polished.
As with all watches bearing the Laurent Ferrier signature, each detail of this version of the Galet Classic has been meticulously chosen and crafted with rigorous care.
In endowing the Galet Classic with such attributes, Laurent Ferrier demonstrates its unconditional respect for classical fine watchmaking. Time should have no hold over this model that displays an authentic sense of detail.

Watch Functions
Our hand-wound calibre “Tourbillon double balance spring” is an exclusive Laurent Ferrier movement which features a concept of two inversed balance springs. This mechanism allows the movement to average out the earth gravity by keeping the balance centre of gravity on its axis.
The balance-springs neutralise the lateral displacement of the balance axis, while the tourbillon compensates for the variations in rate in all vertical positions.
The Galet Classic is indeed chronometer-certified by Besançon Observatory
This timeless style movement is inspired by great chronometers of the 19th century. Some elements recall “Chronometer Competition Watches” which showed the know-how of the greatest watchmakers craftsmen.
We will find a winding system with a very soft design, without the modern check-spring for the pull-out piece. We also chose to use a long “blade” type click ratchet, polished and with a curved shape.
It is a very accurate movement but also sturdy, thought in the least details to go through time and generations and thus to testify of a know-how dating back 200 years.
It features also a lot of handcraft which can only be done by the expert hand of skilled and passionate watchmaker craftsmen.
Numerous engaging angles and different curved finishing are here to testify.
The calibre construction is inspired by the major 19th century chronometry models with their manual-winding system featuring a long-blade-type ratchet pawl system distinguished by the delicate mechanical clicking sound emitted during winding. The movement is finished with extreme care, as evidenced by the manual decoration on the tourbillon carriage bridge. The design of the bridges is inspired by pocket-watches and the decoration is executed in keeping with the finest watchmaking traditions, including 30 hand-crafted interior angles. The bridges are adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif, the mainplate is circular-grained, the sharp edges and interior angles are chamfered and hand-polished, and the screw heads are also polished. The result is a supremely refined expression of pure horological artistry.
